Ceramics

For over 20 years, I’ve worked with ceramics, a craft that lets me escape into the moment and follow the rhythm of the clay. So when I began making wine, it felt natural to bottle it in something handmade: ceramic bottles created by me. As a natural winemaker, sustainability is woven into my work, and making my bottles align with that ethos. Creating these bottles is an expression of creativity and a nod to a time when wine was once bottled in clay, honoring an age-old tradition.

What started as a plan to create two cases of “identical” bottles quickly turned into a journey of experimentation. With my partner Jordan, we experimented tirelessly in our small garage studio in Cayucos, finally refining a slip-casting process that worked, most of the time. Each bottle is a labor of love, a tangible reminder of the time, effort, and creativity poured into every detail—just like the wine itself.

Our journey has been long, but in the end, it was worth every moment.
